Emails are money. 💵
Inboxes are overflowing and people get distracted easily. So, how do you make an email that transforms a reader into a buyer? Let’s break it down.
Get to Know Your Avatar:
-
- Figure out who you’re talking to. What do they like? What pisses them off? Invade their minds.
- Don’t talk the way you talk, talk the way THEY talk.
- Make a fictional character (buyer personas) that represents your favorite customer. List stuff that may seem small. Go into extra detail. Name them.
Clickworthy Subject Lines:
-
- Your emails can’t convert if they don’t get opened. Your subject has to convince them it’s worth it to read your message.
- Keep it short but juicy. Use Emojis. Use their name.
- Keep things interesting by avoiding repeating your subjects from other emails. Don’t expect tricks to work more than once.
- Try this for huge open rates: NAME or Hey, NAME.
Interests and Audience:
-
- Separate your email list. If you can, tag anyone who clicks on links of specific topics to break your list into smaller pieces by interest.
- Make your content fun and entertaining. If they read it, they’ll stick around.
- Use images if you send HTML emails.
- Test everything. Do what works again. And again.
CTAs That Make Them Click:
-
- CTAs guide your readers on what to do next.
- Be clear and to the point. Tell them why they should click.
- Test out different CTAs to see what works best.
Mobile Magic:
-
- More people are checking emails on the go. Make sure your emails look good on mobile.
- Go for designs that look good on any device.
- Big fonts, short content, and clear CTAs help a ton on smaller screens.
