  • Differences Between The 3 Major Types Of Traffic

There are 3 different types of traffic that you can get online.  Any click you can buy or create falls into one of these 3 categories.

I thought it would be useful to break down the differences between them and how you should handle each type to get the most out of it.

    Advertising

This is any traffic you buy or pay for.  Advertising gives us Marketers the ability to control the flow of traffic.  Generally, the more we pay, the more we get.

With Advertising, you want to be sure to have a solid amount of info about who you’re targeting.  The deeper your understanding of your prospect, the easier it will be to get in front of them.  No detail is unimportant:  Marital status, education level, sex (male or female), income level, whether they have kids or not…  All of these things should have an impact on how you speak to them and what you say when you do.

Once you know who you’re talking to, you get to figure out what is going to get their attention.  The easiest way to do this is to see what your competition is doing and saying.  Search common search terms and look at the ads on Google.  Visit sites that come up and look for what ads they’re showing.  Swipe and rewrite the ads that are relevant to what you do and what you sell.

When it comes to targeting, you’re going to want to focus on warmth.  The warmer the traffic, the better.  If there is a segment of your prospects that seems to be performing better than others, tweak your campaigns to focus on that specific segment of your audience.  After all, the key to success with advertising is to make as much as you can while spending as little as you can.

Now, you’ll want to test whatever ads you’re going to run.  Generally, I’ll optimize in this order:

    1. Ad
    2. Audience
    3. Landing Page (Optin)
    4. Sales Page
    5. Offer (sometimes the offer needs to change)
    6. Followup

All you need to do to test is change one thing at a time.  Never change more than one.  Let it run until you get at least 1,000 views or visitors.  Look at the results and go with whatever performed best.

When you’re paying for your traffic, you get to control how fast you’re able to optimize your process.

    Content

Content based traffic covers everything from SEO to Guest Blogging.  You create a video, audio, or written text designed to suck in the reader and convince them to buy your product or service.

Once again, the research matters here.  Understanding your audience should guide the language you use and the topics you cover.  A doctor reads at a different level than an unemployed redneck from Alabama, so your language should cater to the type of person you’re targeting.  The closer you can get to the way they talk, the more likely they’ll be to make it to the end of your content and take whatever action you’re asking them to take.

Speaking action, you have to tell your audience what you want them to do at the end of your content.  Specifically, you want to tell them where to find more information about the topic that you’re content covers.  This is especially important if you’re using sites like YouTube, Slideshare, Medium, or other content based websites.  Send them to a more detailed post on your own website.  Make sure the call to action from the second post leads to your squeeze or landing page to capture the data of your prospect.  You can be pushier on your own website than you can on a content based site.  If they make it through 2 pieces of content to the end, they’ve just qualified themselves to get onto your list and (hopefully) buy what you’re selling.

Whenever possible, you’ll want to link to a squeeze page designed for lead capture from your content.  Many advertising platforms don’t like squeeze pages, but content on your own website can link wherever you want it to.

    Social

Walk into a party and yell at the top of your lungs “I sell PRODUCT and you should all go buy it right now!”

That’s what it looks like if you attempt to do any direct marketing on a social media website.  It simply doesn’t work.  Plus, it makes you look stupid.

When it comes to social media, your best bet is to talk about the problems facing your best prospects.  It will automatically attract those that you can help most.

If you’re trying to be found, use Hashtags.  Using the right Hashtags can help people looking for the kind of info you talk about find you easier.  All social media platforms identify hashtags with the “#” character.  Using some weird, 5 word long hashtag isn’t going to work.  Try to stick to single words or phrases to ensure someone else would actually search for it.

Engagement is everything when it comes to social media and the easiest way to get it is to open up about private things that others can relate to.  Relationships, kids, mistakes, and breakthroughs will almost always generate a lot of attention.  Show the world who you are and share things that will help them see you for who you are.  Give them a reason to pay attention to you and what you’ve got to say.

Once you’ve gained the attention of your audience, you need to do the work required to keep it.  Taking a “social media vacation” is necessary at times, but don’t expect to come back and have everyone waiting for the next time you post.  You’ll need to do extra work to regain the attention you had.

This should help you get your traffic strategies in place and rolling.  When you’re ready to test out your sales process, we’ve got the traffic you need here at TrafficForMe.  Click below to create a free account and get started.

  • 6 Ways To Keep Money Flowing Over Holiday Vacation

As entrepreneurs, our work doesn’t stop just because the kids aren’t going to school (my wife is a teacher, so she’ll be home, too).  One of the main benefits of what we do is being able to decide when we work less or want to spend extra time with those that matter most to us.

Yet, we still have to pay the bills.

In this post, I’m going to separate our “6 ways” into 3 ways to prepare and 3 quick things you can do while working less to keep the money coming in.

3 Ways To Prepare For A Vacation

The easiest way to prepare for vacation is to do as much as possible before you disappear.  Any of these 3 will give you the ability to detach from your computer or phone and enjoy time with your family.

Setup An Email Promo In Advance

This is what your autoresponder is for.  Many of us fall into the daily mess of jumping into our autoresponder and sending out a new broadcast email every day.

Yet, the autoresponder is designed to deliver messages when you’re not there.

Write a series of emails to cover the days you’re not going to be functionally working.  Make sure they’re going to go out at the right times and wait for the payment notices.

    Schedule Social Posts Using Buffer

If you’ve got a majority of your audience on social media, Buffer is about to become your best friend.

It allows you to schedule posts to all of the big social networks (including Instagram).

If you’re going to run a promo to your email list, Buffer will give you the ability to schedule social posts to go out at the same time as your emails.

Most importantly, they have a free version you can use to see how you like it before signing up for the “business” version.

    Create Any Content In Advance

If you do any regular blogging, you’ll want to ensure you’ve got some posts prepared before you head off.

Combine an email in your autoresponder and a blast on your social networks and you’ll have a promotion machine working for you while you’re off having fun.

3 Quick Things You Can Do For Money While On Vacation

What if you want to take the kids out for a crazy Hibachi dinner that’s going to cost you $200 and you’re low on cash and credit after buying gifts?

Any of these 3 will give you a cash infusion to do something extra during vacation.

    Run A Quick Promo

To get attention over the holiday time, you better do something worthy of people’s attention.

In the “Internet Marketing” space, there isn’t a single launch between 12/24 and 12/26 due to Christmas.  I’ve never seen it happen before.

Usually there is one marketer with a killer offer over the holiday.  Not this year.

It’s a huge risk to invest a bunch of money, time, and attention into a product to launch at a time where people are supposed to be hanging out with their families.

Yet, if you’re the only one with a live offer at that time, you’re going to get eyeballs.

    Why?

People will still be staring at their phones when they get bored.

If an email comes in talking about your product, you have a chance to get sales.

The key with a promo over the holidays is to give a crazy deal or something groundbreaking.

If it’s your product, cut the price or stack on extra bonuses.

If it’s an affiliate offer, throw in some personal 1-on-1 help.  Most people won’t take you up on it, but make sure to politely let people know you won’t be available to help until after your vacation ends.

Do An Ad Swap With A Friend

Whether you’re promoting an offer or have products of your own that you sell, you’ve built an email list of customers and prospects.  Most of our customers send our traffic to a squeeze page (as they should).

An ad swap is where you and a friend with a similar list size agree to send out a promo for each other.  You email your list suggesting they check out your friend.  They do the same for you.

    No money has to involved.

As long as you can both create a similar amount of clicks, this is a win/win.

If you don’t have any friends you can do an ad swap with, you can buy some of our traffic instead.

Find A Starving Audience And Feed Them

Finding a new audience and creating an offer is quick?  Not really, unless you have the technology to back it up (Shopify, OptimizePress, or LeadPages).

The idea here is to build an offer or product that you can put in front of people that are nearly guaranteed to buy it.

An example for me would be anything related to Deadpool.  Facebook has figured out that I like Deadpool, so the T-shirt that I saw with Deadpool and a unicorn nearly got me to grab my credit card.

Generally, T-shirt campaigns won’t pay out quickly, so the only way for you to sell them would be to find a print on demand company willing to send products to your customers, then set it up on something like Shopify.

Again, not a quick cash infusion…

However, this will work if you have things you no longer need.  Video games?  Go to Gamestop and sell them.  Fashionable clothes?   Find a Plato’s closet and sell them.  Got a computer you don’t need or use?  Offer up a crazy deal on Craigslist.

I wouldn’t suggest selling things that matter, but most of us have tons of things we never use.  If you’d rather have cash in your pocket, get rid of the stuff you don’t need.

  • How To Easily Boost Sales Over The Holiday Season

Common sense and loud people will tell you that the holidays is the worst season for any business where their products don’t classify as gifts.

Both common sense and loud people are completely wrong.

My training and software businesses have almost always made more money in December than any other month of the year.  Normally, it’s double or triple the normal amount of sales of other months.

There is a simple reason for it and some things you can apply right now to get a boost in sales before the end of 2017.

I created offers that were good enough to break through the noise and sell.

I recognize that you may not be in control of your offers, so I’m going to do what I can to ensure you have some tricks you can use right away to increase your sales, even if you can’t control things like sales or price points.

    Throw Them A Bonus.

Whether the products for sale are yours or not, to generate sales over the holidays, you have to deliver an incredible offer.

The easiest way is to discount one of your primary products.

Add in some unique, special, and helpful bonuses and you’re good to go.

What if you can’t adjust pricing?

    Deliver better bonuses!

This is the order of value for bonuses:

    1 to 1 help

    Coaching

    Group coaching

    Training

Extra products (2 for 1, Buy one get one, etc…)

If you can’t control the offer, add enough to it to get someone to buy.  Odds are that there are plenty of people on your list that want what you’re selling.  This will be enough to get many of them to buy.

    Run A Sale

Pricing always matters, but the holidays are the perfect excuse to drop your prices to seal the deal.

There is a percentage of your audience that has decided that they like what you’re selling, but just don’t want to pay your asking price.

Take the holidays that make sense and use them to get those people to buy.

Come up with a good reason and make them a special offer.  Always explain your reason.

    Team Up With A Buddy

Depending on the size of your audience and the audience of your friend, this could be a 5 figure payday.

The key to this working is to either have something new or combine talents with your friend.

The best way to deliver something like this is via webinar.  Create a 4 – 8 week course and sell it for less than you should.

Throw in a bonus or two each and you’ve got a solid offer.

Make the offer and get the sales.

If you need a little extra traffic for your special offers, you know where to get it.

  • 6 Alternative Messaging Strategies For You To Use

They used to say that a prospect needs to see an offer 7 times before they make a purchase.  I’ve read recently that the number has gone up to 12.

How many ways are you interacting with your audience?

The more ways you’ve got, the higher the odds of them buying.

Here are 6 ways to add an extra layer of communication between you and your people.

    Facebook™:

Important Warning:  The primary problem with any of these is that you don’t own them.  Facebook™ does.  You can lose anything tied to Facebook™ with zero warning or notice, so make sure you have alternative methods of reaching anyone attached to Facebook™ based assets.

    Messenger Bots/Autoresponder

This is the next big thing.  Software has come out recently that allow you to build a list inside of Facebook™ Messenger.  The deliverability is nearly 100% and the open rate is nuts.  It’s normally over 90%.  Whether you get a response will be based upon your message, your product, and your relationship with your prospect.

Having one built for you is expensive and learning to build them yourself is time consuming.  Either way, it’s worth the trouble if you can get people to sign up for it.

    Facebook Live:

Depending on where your prospects are, you can go live from a personal account, page or group.  The reason doing Facebook Lives are important is that Facebook recently decreased the reach of personal accounts and Facebook Lives are given an extra push for viewers.  In other words, more people will see your post if you do it in the format of a Facebook Live.

It’s as easy as positioning your phone or computer in a way that has you well lit and hitting “go”.

    Group

Creating a group around an idea that your audience would be interested in creates an opportunity for you to privately interact with all of your members.  Discuss big issues and talk about problems they face.  Specifically, use it as an opportunity to talk about issues your product solve and you can’t lose.

    Page

Organic reach of pages on Facebook™ has decreased dramatically over the years, but it’s still worth it to invest a little energy to create an active page.  The primary benefit is that Facebook™ makes it super easy to advertise to those that like your page.

While you only reach a small percentage of your followers when you post, the more active your page is, the more likes and prospects you’ll attract.

    Push Messaging:

How many times have you been asked if you would allow “notifications” when you visit a new website?  Push notifications are simply another way to reach out to your audience.  It’s done through a web browser as a tiny pop up window any time you want to send one out.

Use it to send out content as well as any promos you run.  Extra clicks will always mean more money.

    SMS

Most people don’t like giving out their cell phone number, but some will if they’re very interested in what you’re doing.  Add it as an optional third section in addition to “email” and “name” on your landing pages (make sure you mark it as optional or it will cost you a lot of leads).

Make sure you send out content along with any offers you want to send.

    Building These Alternative Messaging Groups

So, how do you get people added to these other groups?  Ask them to join and give them a reason to do it.  Post a giveaway as the first thing they get for signing up to this extra list.  The easiest way is to suggest any new ways you setup to join via your email list.  Get them into as many additional messaging systems as you can.

When you want to build your list fast, we have the traffic you need for it.

  • A Simple Strategy To Build Your List For Free

You already know that building your list via advertising works.  You pay for traffic and send it to your lead capture page.  A certain percentage of that traffic will sign up for your list and some of those will end up buying what you’ve got for sale.

What you may not be aware of is a simple, fool-proof strategy you can use to build your list for free.

    Here’s how it works:

    The Backwards Slide

Free traffic is almost always based upon content.  For this content, you want to do something very specific to build it.

First, you’re going to want to know keyword phrases that your audience associates with your products.  You’re going to use those to describe the content you create.

Next, go backwards from what you have inside of your giveaway.  The type of content (audio, video, text) doesn’t matter, all that matters is what you’re promising and how you deliver it.

Now, create content that leads directly to your giveaway.

This can be done either by pulling out small pieces of your content or by solving smaller problems that lead to the one you solve in your freebie.

    Content Marketing Made Easier?

There are 2 paths to take with this strategy:

    1. Aim for search engine rankings and traffic
    2. Ignore search engines and focus on internal search of the content sites.

If you’re aiming for search engine traffic, every piece of content you post online has to be unique.  It requires a lot of extra work, but if you end up ranking for terms that get searched for regularly, you can get a lot of free leads.

Ignoring the search engines makes the strategy much easier, but you have to make sure any link you put up to your landing page is “no followed”.  This blog post explains how to do it (in far more detail than I ever thought it could need).

    Internal Search Functions Matter

My general preference is to ignore SEO and put the right content in as many locations as I can.

The most popular content based websites get tens of thousands of visitors per day and some of those visitors will want to know more about the topic that leads to your products.

Ensuring you have content on their site will drive you free targeted traffic for years.

    The Top Sites To Use

Take the content you’ve created and post it on top content directories.  YouTube, Slideshare, EzineArticles, Medium, LinkedIn, and Facebook should all be at the top of your lists.

Every market will also have niche specific directories that can send a huge amount of traffic.  Forbes, Entrepreneur, and Business Insider are a few of the ones I’d use if I was looking to build the T4ME list.

    Is This Enough?

Never!  Adding in some content marketing to your list building strategy is simple common sense.  You want your email list to be growing at all times to account for people leaving and unsubscribing.

In business, I prefer to never put all of my eggs into a single basket.

Keep your advertising running as long as you can turn it into a profit, but throw in a little content marketing, too.

When you’re ready for some advertising, we’ve got the best email traffic you can get.

  • 3 Special Emails To Boost Sales In Any Promotion

With a few special emails, you can add extra sales to any promotion you run.  I’m not referring to the ones you would normally send, those are:

    1. The Introduction:  This is where you show your subscribers the problems this product solves and explain a little about why they’ll want it.
    2. The Benefits:  This is where you focus on the product’s ability to solve a specific problem your subscribers have.
    3. The Scarcity Play:  This could also be called “The Close”.  This is where you inject whatever scarcity you can.  If the product doesn’t have it, you can inject some by only making a special bonus available for a limited amount of time.  Scarcity will always boost sales.

These 3 emails are used in addition to the ones above to increase the amount of sales you get out of your promotion.

    The Tease

The tease is designed to alert your subscribers that something special is coming.  It should look something like this:

    “Hey NAME,

I wanted to drop you a brief note today to let you know that I have something special coming to your inbox tomorrow.

It’s going to help you INSERT PROBLEM IT SOLVES.

    To your success,

    Your Name”

What this does is set the expectation that a solution is inbound to one of their primary problems.

As long as the offer fits your audience, it should increase your open rate and click-through on the link you send when you begin the promotion.

    The Extra Ones

The idea behind this tweak is to add some extra emails to your promotion.  This is generally referred to as a “Crush Campaign” and it was named by Omar Martin.  A customer of his broke down his process in a blog post, you can find it here.

The idea is to send one email on day one, 2 emails on day two, and 3 emails on day three.

The easiest way to do it is to focus on a piece of the set of benefits in each email for the first two days while the final day is focused on scarcity and when the offer or promotion ends.

    The Curiosity Play

This one is super simple, but really works as long as your subscribers trust you and you don’t use it every time you run a promotion.

    It goes like this:

    “Hey NAME,

I couldn’t believe it when I saw it, but it’s legit.

You’ve got to see this. <—- Link goes here.

    To your success,

    YOUR NAME”

It works really well when combined with the teaser email I showed you above.

When you’re ready for a bigger list, we’ll be happy to help with that.

  • How To Choose The Best Autoresponder Service For Your Company

Before we get into figuring out which Autoresponder you should be using, you’re going to want to read something important:

    The Biggest Autoresponder Misconception

When you pay for a service to deliver your emails to people that subscribe to your list, you expect them to be able to deliver.

If you see your emails hitting your spam folder or hear from a subscriber that they found your email in theirs, your immediate response is to get angry with your autoresponder service.

    It’s their fault, right?

While I thought it was always their fault, that’s not always the case.

Rarely, a bunch of spammers can get the tracking URLs that autoresponders use blacklisted.  For a few weeks, any emails containing those links will be penalized.

Yet, the truth is that you shouldn’t be using their tracking anyways.  A responsible email marketer will be cloaking and tracking their own links.  If you do that, using the tracking built into an autoresponder is redundant and can cost you sales if either of the tracking links you’re using doesn’t work properly.

The simple solution is to use your own link tracking and never use the tracking built into an autoresponder.

Problems with email deliverability are usually a problem we cause ourselves.  In case you missed our last post, you’ll want to go back to that to ensure your web host is setup to identify your emails as important and coming from a legitimate business.

    Which Autoresponder should you use?

Autoresponders are admittedly awesome, but which one is right for you?  The answer lies in how you plan on handling your email marketing.

These questions will help you select which one will serve you best and help you produce the most sales for your business.

    What does your company sell?

This only matters because it will have an affect on how often you send emails.  Teachers, coaches, info marketers, content marketers, and affiliates should be sending daily emails for the best results.

E-commerce sellers and service providers should be emailing roughly once a week or a little less.

Obviously, the statements above are made as though they’re facts.  They’re not.

The only reason your email frequency matters is because your subscribers will grow to expect your standard.

It’s OK to deviate for special reasons, but generally sticking to your standard is wise.  A large amount of unsubscribes in a short period of time is an indication that you’re breaking autoresponder company policies and will force them to take a closer look at what you’re doing.

In other words, the risk of getting your account shut off goes way up.

Do you plan on doing affiliate marketing?

Some autoresponder services forbid direct linking for the purpose of affiliate marketing.Money

The short and simple workaround is to use what’s called a “bridge page”.  This page exists to explain the benefits to your prospects from your voice.  It can boost conversion when done properly.

If you plan on doing extensive affiliate marketing, you should follow these simple guidelines below:

The autoresponder services that dislike affiliate marketing are Active Campaign, Icontact, and Mailchimp.

If you plan on doing “straight linking” to affiliate offers, consider using Aweber, Getresponse, Drip, or Sendlane.

    Do you want advanced automation?

    Automation

A little over 10 years ago, a company came out of nowhere with very advanced automation built into it.  That company is InfusionSoft.  Their advanced tagging and automation features allowed their users to build automated sequences that did things no other software could do.

The primary issue when they first launched was cost.  They charged thousands of dollars as a “setup fee”, then hundreds of dollars per month.  Their features went far beyond a simple autoresponder.  They had affiliate tracking, order processing, and many others built in.

The problem with the company is that they’ve always been stuck in “beta”.  The software is very difficult to use.  It used to cost me $3,000 just to have a programmer get their system setup to process PayPal payments…

Thankfully, autoresponder services have been released that offer the automation without crazy costs or unnecessary features.

If you’re looking to be able to do advanced list segmentation and autoresponders based upon actions your subscribers take (clicking a link or watching a video to the end) you’d want to take a close look at Active Campaign, Sendlane, and Drip for those kind of features.

The 2 questions you think matter that don’t:

    What is your budget?

Let’s get real here.  You SHOULD be able to turn every subscriber on your list into $1 per month if you handle your list properly.  Even if you’re only able to make $ 0.25 per subscriber per month, no autoresponder service charges anywhere near that amount.

The key is to go with the one that can grow with you.  All of the ones recommended above are worth using as long as you decide based on the answers to the questions above.

Honestly, I personally lean more toward the services that have advanced automation, but that’s only because of the incredible things you can automate with them.

    What is their deliverability like?

I don’t want to beat a dead horse here, but know that a drop in deliverability is most likely your fault.  The short and simple solution is to never use the built in tracking most autoresponder services offer.  Use your own link cloaking and tracking solution and make sure theirs is shut off.

There are probably a dozen other autoresponder companies out there.  What you’re seeing in this post are the ones I believe are most viable.

    Ready to build that list?

We’re here and happy to help with the traffic you need.

  • How To Improve Your Email Marketing By Hitting More Inboxes

The most persuasive email ever written will not produce sales if it doesn’t hit the inboxes of your list.

To ensure you hit more inboxes, you need to do 3 primary things:  setup your host/domain, maintain professional standards, and connect with your subscribers.

If you do everything mentioned in this post, you’ll be setup to enjoy extra sales and income from the work you put in.

    Setup Your Host and Domain.

The first step to increasing your email deliverability is to ensure that Email Service Providers (ESPs) see you as a legitimate email sender.

The security you have over at your web host matters.  Things like long, difficult to decipher passwords, firewalls, and other security traps can help, but that only prevents hacking.

Your web host’s control panel has some simple to implement things that will help the ESPs recognize your authority.

    DKIM, SPF, and DMARC records.

Each of these records serve the purpose of proving your identity.  If you can prove your identity, you’ll raise the level of trust the different ESPs have for your domain and your emails.

SPF stands for “Sender Policy Framework” and DKIM stands for “Domain Keys Identified Mail”, both records are mandatory for anyone sending emails with the desire to have them land in the inboxes you’re sending to.  The video below shows how to set it up:

DMARC stands for “Domain-based Message Authentication”, this authentication system just recently came out and it adds more reliability your sending email address.  This blog post shows how to set one up.

    Google Postmaster

GooglePostmaster is an easy way to get more of your emails into Gmail inboxes.  Follow the process at this link and get your domains listed and verified.

    SenderScore

SenderScore is a credit score for your email address.  It ranges from 0 to 100 and the higher the score, the higher the likelihood of your emails landing in inboxes you send them to.  It changes every day, but don’t check it that often.  Taking a look once a week, or even once a month is enough.

Once you have all of this setup, check to make sure you got it all setup right at Mail Tester.

    Maintain Professional Standards

Always send from the same domain.

I’ve heard different advice from a few different “email experts”, but what I’ve learned over time is that the single best thing you can do for your business is to email from the same email address and never change it.

If you’ve taken all of the steps listed above, you should have no issue with reaching your subscribers.  Plus, it’s better for your domain reputation to stick to a single email.  Your subscribers will know your email when they see it and (hopefully) look forward to receiving your messages.

    Use an Autoresponder service.

There are dozens of different ways to manage your email list and a few of them are “self hosted”.  To “self host” your email list, you have to setup autoresponder software on your host.  It’s a terrible idea.

Autoresponder services have relationships with ESPs that you will never be able to reproduce as a small emailer.  Take advantage of their relationships.

While some autoresponders can get tracking domains flagged as spam, it’s rare.  More importantly, the Autoresponder service will be able to fix something like that a lot faster than you would if you got flagged.

It may cost more, but if your email list is a source of income, you have to use an Autoresponder service.  Which service you use doesn’t matter as long as it’s an active company that knows what they’re doing.

    Remove dormant email addresses.

Would you give someone a room in your house for free?  If someone isn’t opening your emails, yet stays on your list, you’re allowing them to cost you money and reduce your deliverability.

ESPs measure the value of your emails based on how many of their users open them.  If someone hasn’t opened an email you’ve sent after a month or two, boot them off your list.

    Connect With Your Subscribers

    Get your emails opened.

A little bit of copywriting skill goes a long way to get your subscribers to open your emails.

If you need ideas for headlines, you can get help from this post we put together awhile ago.

A trick I’ve successfully used in the past is to use an ASCII character in my headline.  It’s not something you should use every time you send an email, but it’s worth trying to see if it boosts your open rates.  Just copy and paste one of the characters into your headline and see how it does for you.

Personalization helps open rates in most situations.  If you’ve collected the first names of your subscribers, use it.

Most importantly, your headline has to explain in a few words why your email is going to matter to your subscriber.  Always come up with headlines that convey the end result you’ll be providing to those that read your emails.

    Get your subscribers to reply.

Any interaction with your messages makes you look good to ESPs.  Make sure you email from an address you actively monitor and ask a question your readers will want to answer.

The more that respond, the better you look.

    Use your data to improve.

Every autoresponder service gives you data based upon each email you send.  Every few weeks, you should be looking through your data to see what resonated most with your list.

Whatever they responded to shows exactly how to get them to respond again.  Higher response equals more sales revenue in your pocket.

To take your understanding beyond the basic reporting you get from your autoresponder service, take a look at Autoresponder Analytics.

  • How To Know What To Work On Right Now

It’s easy to get buried in the gigantic to-do list you’ve got.

Over time, I developed a process I follow that helps me identify exactly what has to take first priority during my work day.

The process also helps to identify what’s next and what comes after that.

    What’s Closest To Money?

If you’re working on half a dozen different projects at a time, this is how you pick what to finish first.

Which project is either nearly done or almost ready to sell?

It’s usually a very simple to answer this question.  The project that’s closest to finished.

Once you figure out which one is almost done, the next step is to figure out what things need to be completed to get that project done.

Then, take the steps and finish what you’re working on.

What Am I Going To Do?

You know your strengths and you should know your weaknesses.

To get things done faster, do what you’re best at and find someone else to do what you aren’t good at.

By focusing on personally doing the steps that you’re best at, you can speed up the process and get it all done faster.

Who ends up doing the other parts is important, too.  Use a site like Upwork, Fiverr, or Guru to find people you can pay to do the work you shouldn’t do.

When looking to hire, I always ask a weird question like their favorite color or first job to see who is paying attention to what I’m asking for in my ad.

    Reward Yourself Often

Part of the problem when preparing an offer, promo, or email sequence is that there is no reward until we can push “go” on it.

Instead of waiting until it’s “live”, reward yourself for every few tasks you complete.

This will give you the motivation to get things done and finish it all.

Personally, I’ll take a 30 minute break to read or play video games, but you may enjoy a walk around the block or a quick phone call to someone special.

If the reward is important enough to you, you’ll get things done faster.

    Don’t Stop!

When you finish your current project, don’t stop working.

Take advantage of how much you’re getting done and keep going.  You want to capitalize on your momentum instead of taking the rest of the day off.

Before you know it, that to-do list will be completely done.

Then, you can start a new one.

  • 4 Assets To Build To Prepare For An Offer Dying A Burning Death

    Offers die.

Business Opportunities fold, implode, or disappear.  One recently had a meltdown in public.  It happens.

A timely offer that does huge amounts of sales may have a limited time on it’s run.

What can you do to ensure your business goes on and doesn’t die with the offer?

    Build Your Email List

Your email list is your greatest asset.  If you’re promoting someone else’s product as your business, the single worst thing you can do is send traffic straight to their offer for more than one reason:

    1. You’re building their list, not yours.
    2. You’re placing far too much faith in the longevity of the offer you’re promoting.
    3. Your conversions will be lower than they would be if you warmed them up to the idea of the product via email.

The simple solution is to create a squeeze page and send traffic there instead.  That way, if the offer dies, you can move them to a new one and not have to start at zero.

    Create Your Own Voice

Your VoiceStanding behind an offer is smart, but being overly loud about it is not.

How silly will you look if that offer dies?

Instead, provide value of your own.

You definitely need to provide some value to your customers.  If you’re not selling any products of your own, give away as much value as possible.

Tell your audience everything they need to know to do well with the offer you want them to sign up for.  Share the things they wouldn’t get from the main product.

    Help them sell more.

Then, their loyalty will be to you instead of the offer.  If you leave, far more will come with you.

    Develop Your Own Offers

Even if you never sell them, it would make sense to build up offers of your own.

If you don’t want to sell them, use them as bonuses for whatever company you’re currently working with.

Try to focus your energy on things your prospects need that the offers don’t usually provide.  See if there is any software out there that you can either have built or white label (rename and sell as your own).

Video series, PDF reports, live Q and A sessions, and interviews with experts are all valuable as long as they cover the right topics.

The more you have to offer to your audience, the more likely they’ll be to remain loyal to you.

If you focus on filling in blanks for your customers, you can’t lose.

    Find Connected Offers To Promote

It’s nearly impossible to find an offer that covers every imaginable base your prospects need to cover.

Instead of just promoting the primary offer, find a few parallel offers you can run for additional income.

Focus on software and training your prospect needs.  Even better, find things you can’t provide them.

Recommend them to your audience via email, social media, and whatever other avenues you have to reach them.

This way, you have income from more than one source.  If your primary source crashes and burns, you’ll still have income coming.
